Ochi Gallery is pleased to present a follow-up to our exhibition, Letters From Home, in a temporary space in Los Angeles at the Pacific Design Center. As part of their Design Loves Art program, Ochi will feature a group exhibition of works by a diverse group of artists including sculptures, paintings, photographs and works on paper. The show will run November 15 – December 15 with an opening reception November 15, 5:30 -8 PM at 8687 Melrose Avenue, Suite B231, West Hollywood, CA.
The exhibition was organized by Pauli Ochi in collaboration with New York artists Barney Kulok, Sebastian Bear-McClard, and Gordon Stevenson. All the works included in Letters from Home fit into one of two categories: 1) works that are made with or of text and address the visual and material qualities of language, 2) works that focus on the notion of the domestic, or the stuff, literally and metaphorically, that make up the home. In many cases, works fit into both categories. Taken together, the works in situ read as a non-linear, visual correspondence from the organizers: a letter about language and place, art and poetry, reading and seeing.
