NELLIE KING SOLOMON

Nellie King Solomon
is a native San Franciscan who has studied and worked professionally in both art and architecture. She holds an MFA from The California Collage of the Arts and studied architecture at The Cooper Union for The Advancement of Science and Art in New York City . She is currently exhibiting  her large-scale paintings on Mylar nationally, she is collected internationally. She is represented by Brian Gross Fine Arts in San Francisco, Melissa Morgan Fine Arts in Palm Desert and Ochi Gallery in Sun Valley. Recent solo painting shows include; Palm Desert, San Francisco, Sun Valley, Grass Valley, Chicago, Detroit, New York City and Los Angeles. Reviews and publications include; Art in America, SF Chronicle, Art Week, SF Examiner, Sac Bee, Architectural Digest, Western Interiors and Sunset. She teachs painting at Stanford and ‘Drawing Matters’ at California College of the Arts in the First Year Program. She has taught Adult Drawing Classes at Montalvo Arts Center and she was the Founder, Creative Director and Lead Teacher of Y.A.R. Young Artist in Residence summer program at Montalvo Arts Center. She has been a guest teacher, lecturer and review panelist at The California College of Arts and The San Francisco Art Institute in their painting programs.
