FEATURING A PERFORMANCE BY HEATHER HANSEN
DECEMBER 31, 8-10 PM
PERFORMANCE BEGINS PROMPTLY AT 9 PM

Ochi Gallery is pleased to present The Value of a Line, a group exhibition opening on December 31.  The exhibition features a performance by Heather Hansen that will begin promptly at 9 pm.

In 1906 German art historian Wilhelm Worringer wrote, “The value of a line, of a form consists for us in the value of the life that it holds for us.  It holds its beauty only through our own vital feeling, which, in some mysterious manner, we project into it.”  Each artist included in this exhibition creates work that is infused with life via the lines they create.

Heather Hansen employs her own body and performance to create large-scale charcoal and pastel drawings.  Of her work she says “I am searching for ways to download my movement directly onto paper, emptying gestures from one form to another and recreating something new in the process.”  The results are a powerful performance that focuses on the process of drawing as much as the product.

Other artists included are: Andy McCabe, Aaron Pearson, Baron Von Fancy, Brian Wills, Brittany Sanders, Charlotte Baker, Chatham Baker, Catherine Chalmers, Claudia Parducci, Erin Rachel Hudak, Laddie John Dill, Megan Murphy, Alison Van Pelt, Nicole Kohn, Mia Babalis, Molly Larkey, Nellie King Solomon and William T.
